Having initially trained as a barrister in 2007, I cross-qualified as a solicitor in 2012, working in regional and boutique firms in London, Merseyside and more recently, Cambridge.
Discrimination is my main area of interest, but I have extensive experience with both contentious and non-contentious matters. I routinely advise on HR problems, draft and review contracts, policies, and handbooks, and provide guidance on the management of staff issues. Additionally, I regularly negotiate settlement agreements for employers and employees and have tribunal litigation and advocacy experience.
I am a member of the ELA and have provided training to employers on Settlement Agreements, Gender Issues, and Disability Discrimination. I take a practical and empathetic approach to solving clients’ problems and finding the best resolutions. I assist both companies and individuals, understanding how disruptive employment disputes can be. I work with my clients to minimise the stress as well as solving the underlying causes.
In my spare time, I have a house full of rescue animals, including two dogs from Romania and one from Jordan that I rescued whilst on holiday. I stay active with weekly horse riding and I have achieved a black belt in Taekwon-Do. I enjoy the arts, from Royal Opera House performances to heavy metal gigs, and I advocate for disability rights. Fun fact: I can eat and breathe fire!
