About

I undertake both contentious and procurement work and my experience includes drafting and negotiating construction and engineering contracts, professional team appointments and security documents, such as performance guarantees and collateral warranties.

I advise on a range of procurement solutions and alternative methods of dispute resolution, such as mediation and expert determination. I also act on adjudications, arbitrations and Technology & Construction Court (TCC) proceedings.

I’ve acted for developers (including Housing Associations), contractors, commercial occupiers, financial institutions, education establishments and Local Authorities.

I qualified in 1999 and I’m based in our Nottingham office. For more than eight years, I practiced as a specialist construction and engineering lawyer at a large international firm. I have extensive experience of search orders and freezing injunctions, and I’m a Court approved supervising solicitor and qualified to act as an Adjudicator.

I am an accredited adjudicator, appointed to both the Technology and Construction Solicitors’ Association (TeCSA) and the UK Adjudicators (UKA) adjudication panels. TeCSA is a national organisation of construction lawyers and promotes greater efficiency in the conduct of litigation in the Technology and Construction Court.

The multi-disciplinary list of adjudicators on both the TeCSA and UKA panels is used extensively by the industry to resolve disputes in the construction and engineering sector.

My three children all have differing interests and so my role as “Dad’s Taxi” is ever-increasing. I must also confess that my youngest’s passion for Lego has ignited a second childhood in me! In my spare time, I Iike nothing more than hitting the running trails (particularly the Peak District when it’s cold and snowy) or heading out on my bike around the Vale of Belvoir.

Thank you very much for your expert help over the last few months. There is no way we could have done it without you!
