Oar-some staff from Buckles Solicitors are preparing for a watery battle against other business in the Peterborough Charity Dragon Boat Festival (13 June).
The dragon boat racers have been perfecting their strokes by getting in some practise on the rowing machines in the company gym in preparation for the charity challenge at Thorpe Meadows.
Now in its 17th year, the dragon boat race attracts participants from all over the Peterborough area, as well as thousands of spectators.
The 11-strong Buckles team will be on the starting line with over 50 other crews, all raising money for Sue Ryder – Thorpe Hall Hospice.
As well as the racing, there will be plenty of bankside family entertainment including funfair activities, inflatables and children’s rides plus a variety of food stalls and bar.
Buckles have a year of fundraising and community engagement well under way including official sponsors of this year’s Rutland Water Family Bike Ride in aid of the NSPCC and among the sponsors of October’s Perkins Engines Great Eastern Run.
Staff are also fundraising money for EACH (East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices) throughout 2015.
