We have just learned that Peterborough County Court Bailiffs have suspended all evictions for the foreseeable future, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. We can therefore assume that this will apply to all County Courts across England and Wales.

This means that if you have a date for a Bailiff eviction it is not going to take place. As soon as we have any further guidance from the Courts as to what is going to happen in the coming months we will let you know.

Going forward, we would suggest that if you have a possession order that is due to expire and you were going to apply for a warrant, you may wish to consider still making the application. Doing so will help ensure that you are not at the back of the queue once dates are being set again as, of course, the bailiff is going to have a backlog to catch up with.
