Law firm, Buckles Solicitors, are saddling up to sponsor one of the area’s biggest sporting charity events later this year – the 2016 NSPCC cycle ride.
This firm has supported the event for a number of years, and last year the cycle ride raised an impressive £11,000 for the NSPCC in the Peterborough area.
Staff from the solicitor’s Peterborough, Nottingham and Stamford offices are being encouraged to lend their own support by signing up for the family event at Rutland Water on Sunday 5 June.
The event is organised by the Peterborough Business Support Group for the charity, and in 2015 attracted around 120 participants who pedalled a full circuit to raise vital funds to help vulnerable children locally.
Buckles managing partner, Colleen Gostick said: “We are delighted to be supporting and sponsoring this very popular event once again, while raising money for a very worthy cause.
“As a leading local business, it is important that we join others in trying to make a difference to the lives of some of our most vulnerable young people in and around Peterborough.”
NSPCC Peterborough Business Support Group chairman Chris Collier said: “Our huge thanks to Buckles for their sponsorship of what has become a highly-anticipated and very successful event in our fundraising calendar.”
No strangers to fundraising, Buckles Solicitors are currently raising funds for Peterborough based charity, Little Miracles – which supports families of children with additional needs, disabilities and life limiting conditions.
During 2015, the firm raised a fantastic £5,300 for EACH (East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices), a charity supporting families and caring for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk.
Fundraising stunts included abseils, a London to Paris cycle ride, Dragon Boat race and weight loss challenge.
Meanwhile, community-spirited staff from Buckles will be taking part in the Peterborough Dragon Boat Race on Sunday 11 June – in aid of Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice, using the rowing machines in the company gym to get into practise.
Buckles Solicitors are also among the return sponsored for the city’s half marathon, the Perkins Great Eastern Run on Sunday 9 October.
