CITY law firm Buckles will be saddling up to sponsor one of the area’s biggest sporting charity events later this year – the 2015 NSPCC cycle ride.
Staff from the solicitor’s Peterborough and Stamford offices are being encouraged to lend their own support by signing up for the event at Rutland Water on June 7 – which last year raised an impressive £18,250 for the NSPCC in Peterborough.
The event is organised by the Peterborough Business Support Group for the charity, and attracted around 180 participants who pedalled a full circuit to raise vital funds to help vulnerable children locally.
Buckles managing partner Colleen Gostick said: “We are delighted to be supporting and sponsoring this very popular event while raising money for a fabulous good cause locally.
“As a leading local business, it is important that we join others in trying to make a difference to the lives of some of our most vulnerable young people in and around Peterborough.”
And in efforts to encourage a little team spirit, there are plans to introduce challenges leading up to the event using a static bike in the company’s gym.
NSPCC Peterborough Business Support Group chairman Chris Collier said: “Our huge thanks to Buckles for their sponsorship of what has become an highly-anticipated and very success event in our fundraising calendar.”
No strangers to fundraising, Buckles Solicitors have spent the past 12 months boosting funds for chosen charity Anna’s Hope, with the final total reaching £5,000 – a company record.
The company is also in talks with Perkins Great Easter Run organisers to repeat its sponsorship and involvement with the half marathon again this year.
