BEIS provides update for construction industry in response to COVID-19
The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has issued a letter to the construction industry, providing an update on the role of the sector in response to the COVID-19 crisis.
The message appears to be that construction works can continue, providing that the government approved Site Operating Procedures (SOP) are adhered to. The SOP provides guidance on a range of issues, e.g. travel to/from sites, site access, sanitary and welfare and distancing.
Of course, each development project will need to be assessed on site by site basis.
We will continue to advise on the options available to all our clients and contacts and no doubt the landscape will continue to change over the coming days and weeks.
