The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has issued a letter to the construction industry, providing an update on the role of the sector in response to the COVID-19 crisis.
The message appears to be that construction works can continue, providing that the government approved Site Operating Procedures (SOP) are adhered to. The SOP provides guidance on a range of issues, e.g. travel to/from sites, site access, sanitary and welfare and distancing.
Of course, each development project will need to be assessed on site by site basis.
