I am a Partner in the Corporate and Commercial team at Buckles Solicitors, where I advise clients across a range of sectors on commercial and corporate matters.
I trained and qualified at a Peterborough-based firm, where I built a strong foundation working on corporate matters spanning the full life cycle of a company, from incorporation through to reorganisation, acquisition, disposal and dissolution. Over time, my focus has evolved towards commercial legal advice, while retaining that valuable corporate perspective. I joined Buckles in 2024 to further develop its commercial offering.
I support clients with all aspects of their commercial contracting needs, whether they are buying, selling, supplying or receiving goods or services. This includes reviewing and advising on contracts and standard terms and conditions, drafting commercial agreements, and supporting clients during negotiations to ensure their position is protected.
My corporate background means I am also well placed to advise on shareholders’ agreements and joint venture arrangements, helping clients clearly document and protect relationships between shareholders and business partners.
I have particular experience supporting clients in the Charity and Education sectors. My work in the charity sector includes advising on set-up and incorporation (including conversions), governance issues, reviewing and updating governing documents, and supporting trustees in fulfilling their duties. I have also assisted with structural changes such as mergers and the establishment of trading subsidiaries. In the education sector, I have worked on academisation projects, school transfers to and from Multi Academy Trusts, governance matters, and commercial contracts for both state and independent institutions.
While advising on commercial arrangements, I also support clients with data protection and privacy matters. This includes helping clients understand their data processing activities, advising on compliance obligations and drafting key documentation such as privacy policies and data processing agreements, as well as supporting data sharing arrangements within corporate groups.
I understand first-hand the importance of getting the commercial position right and aligning legal advice with operational realities. A period of secondment in house gave me valuable insight into business priorities, commercial drivers and the need for pragmatic, tailored advice.
I firmly believe that effective legal support comes from taking the time to understand each client, their business and what they want to achieve. No two businesses are the same, and the advice and documentation I provide is always tailored to reflect that, ensuring it is practical, proportionate and aligned with their objectives.
Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, reading, walking and cycling. Much of my time is spent with my three children and our young dog, who keep me busy and active
