I joined Buckles in March 2021 as a Consultant in our Dispute Resolution team and I’m based at our London office. I qualified in 1991, initially working for an international law firm in the City for 16 years before becoming a partner at a boutique Anglo-Italian law firm in London for 8 years.
I am a general commercial litigator with extensive involvement in arbitrations and mediations. I also specialise in contentious intellectual property matters, including the protection and enforcement of registered and unregistered rights.
Throughout my career a large proportion of my clients have been Italian and continental businesses and I have assisted them in navigating contentious matters, many with a cross-border element.
I have considerable trial experience, including intellectual property disputes, some of which are reported cases. I have also acted in several public and administrative law and judicial review cases and advised high profile individuals and companies in defamation and privacy cases.
My primary objective is to achieve a commercial solution for my clients as soon as possible, bearing in the mind the potential costs of litigation.
I am known for being very responsive, and for taking the time to define what is truly important to each client. I am fluent in Italian and French and, being bicultural English and Italian, I am mindful of the cultural differences between the UK and continental Europe, adapting the delivery of my advice and assistance accordingly.
I am Secretary General and on the Board of the European Lawyers’ Union (UAE). I am Trustee of the South Westminster Legal Advice Centre and 21st Century Leaders.
I have a keen interest in medicine and enjoy keeping fit. I play the clarinet and piano and love classical music.
