I am a French national and was brought up in France in the Parisian suburbs. I graduated from Université Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas with a Master 1 in Private Law followed by a Master 2 in IT Law, and after practicing in a small boutique Parisian firm for a couple of years, decided to move to the UK in September 2015 to develop additional legal and language skills. I completed a LLM in International Commercial Law at the University in Nottingham with distinction, fell in love with the country, and then joined Buckles as a paralegal in June 2016.
After 8 years at Buckles, I decided to leave to explore a new career opportunity, and after a year away came back in February 2026 to head up the French team. I qualified as a solicitor through the SQE route in November 2024, achieving first quintile in both SQE1 and SQE2.
As a French lawyer and qualified solicitor in England & Wales, the best way to describe myself is as a private client cross-border lawyer, with my areas of expertise being French property and inheritance law, and the interaction between French and English law. I advise British nationals either in the UK or abroad who have a connection with France, for example because they are French expats, or own a holiday home in France, or are inheriting French assets from a relative, and require legal advice.
I can advise on Wills, French Lasting Powers of Attorney, and French inheritance tax and will work with English private client colleagues in providing estate planning advice. I also can advise on French property transactions, such as purchases, sales, lifetime gifts and buy outs. In addition to advising my clients directly, I also regularly work with other professionals, such as other private client solicitors, or IFAs and Family Offices. I can also advise French expats living in the UK on their estate planning, and help point them to a colleague for advice on areas of English law that are outside of my expertise.
As a cross-border lawyer, I practice in a very niche area of law, and quite often clients reach out to us when they have tried to deal with their legal matter directly in France and hit a roadblock. I find great satisfaction in being able to tell a new client “Yes, I completely understand what your issue is, and I know how to solve it”, and being able to achieve a good result for them.
I also particularly enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team of advisors, always looking out for my clients’ best interests and ensuring that they receive comprehensive advice, by fostering relationships with advisors in the UK, in France or elsewhere, so that when I can’t advise a client on an issue myself, I know someone who will be able to assist and offer the same high quality service that I would myself.
Outside of work I am a bit of a nerd. I love playing video games (that is actually how I met my husband) and reading books, in particular fantasy and litRPG. So you will usually find me at home with a book, a video game, or watching Formula 1 on Grand Prix weekends! I am also a keen musician, and I play the harpsichord (favouring French baroque music, of course).
