A city council drop-in centre service for adults with learning disabilities has received a boost – thanks to law firm Buckles.
Buckles Solicitors has donated a suite of 15 computers to be used at the centre at 49 Lincoln Road, where people attending the Pathways job club will be able to access them to apply for jobs.
Ian Worley, day centre officer, said: "In 2012 I was looking to set up a computer suite at 49 Lincoln Road and was in search of people or organisations who could donate computers, when I was told about Peterborough ProHelp.
"Buckles Solicitors contacted me as a result of this scheme, offering to donate a number of computers which would save them the cost of disposal."
He added: "Buckles got back in touch in April to offer additional computers, which were enough to refit the computer suite and fit out a newly decorated Pathways room in which we have four computers and a smart board funded by a Government grant.
"Thanks to Buckles we can now offer job search support five days a week."
Colleen Gostick, managing partner at Buckles Solicitors said: "We often have to upgrade our computers and other technical equipment to make sure we have the best systems in place to maintain the highest possible levels of service.
"However, that doesn't always mean the old equipment is of no use to somebody else. We are always delighted to help good causes that may not have the funds to buy new equipment, but can make use of our replaced stock, whenever we can."
