Buckles Solicitors LLP is delighted to announce that over £2,000 is to be donated to children’s charity Anna’s Hope, thanks to the fundraising efforts of two brave staff members.
Ruby Bodhanya and Jayne Prior shaved their heads in support and honour of Anna Hughes, who lost her 15-month battle with a brain tumour at just three years old.
Anna’s mum Carole, and co-founder of Anna’s Hope, was present for the head shave, which took place at the law firm’s Peterborough offices on Bourges Boulevard.
Jayne said she considered the head shave “the most appropriate challenge” to do in Anna’s memory, while Ruby had also lost a family member to a brain tumour, so was grateful for the chance to make a difference.
“We have been overwhelmed with the generosity of our friends, family and – of course – our colleagues and clients here at Buckles,” the pair said.
This is the most successful stand-alone fundraising event the firm has undertaken, and means that the company is well on its way to giving the coffers of its nominated charity a substantial boost for 2014.
The money raised will go directly to better support the rehabilitation process of children and young people who have suffered with a brain tumour or who have undergone surgery, by funding the facilities and resources that are not otherwise readily available in local hospitals.
