Buckles Solicitors is set to sponsor the Great British Family Business Conference once again in 2026, marking its fourth consecutive year of involvement with this leading national event curated by Family Business United (FBU).
The conference, which will take place on Thursday 19 March 2026 at The Royal Geographical Society in London, brings together family-owned firms from across the country to explore the unique challenges and opportunities they face, with contributions from across industry and professional services. Buckles’ ongoing support reflects a long-standing interest in this sector and a steadily deepening relationship with the FBU network.
Over the past year, Buckles’ engagement with FBU has moved beyond sponsorship alone. In March, Chief Executive Duncan Jackson joined the speaker line-up at the 2025 conference, taking part in a panel discussion on the upcoming Inheritance Tax changes for family businesses, business resilience and leadership. In May, he also contributed to the Family Business Matters Summit – a gathering focused again on the upcoming Inheritance Tax changes for family businesses as well as succession, governance and long-term sustainability in family firms.
That shared focus will continue this October, when FBU Managing Director Paul Andrews will join the speaker programme at the Nottingham Business Conference hosted by Buckles. With this year’s event taking a family business theme, Paul will contribute his insight and experience as a long-time advocate for the sector. His participation underlines the alignment between the two organisations on the importance of practical support, sector visibility and clear succession planning.
As Paul Andrews adds: “We are delighted to be building our relationship with Buckles further and looking forward to their continued involvement with our family business endeavours. It is great to be working with a team that truly understand the importance of the family business sector and the unique challenges faced by those running a family firm. Family business leaders often cite the fact that it is lonely at the top and they benefit from the peer to peer networking and insights afforded by the events that we run at Family Business United. We have built a truly innovative community and it is great to have the support of Buckles too.”
Duncan Jackson added: “Family businesses are a vital part of the economy, but they also bring with them a unique set of priorities – from succession planning to governance, and the dynamics that come with generational change. Through our work with FBU, we’ve had the chance to support those conversations more meaningfully and we look forward to continuing that.”
Buckles continues to provide cross-disciplinary advice tailored to the needs of family-owned businesses, including succession and tax planning, governance structures, property, and employment. The firm’s partnership with FBU forms part of a broader commitment to working with business owners at every stage of the life cycle.
