Leading law firm Buckles Solicitors has been accredited with a major eco award which recognises the company’s continued commitment to the environment.
The firm already holds Green status, presented through the Investors in the Environment (IiE) scheme, for achievements that have ranged from; reducing electricity usage, promoting recycling to staff and changing company computers to more energy efficient models.
However, the company has been honoured once more for its ongoing work over the past 12 months and has been presented with the top accolade of Great Green Star Award at a special ceremony.
As well as continuing to monitor its current levels of efficiency and take steps to further reduce any environmental impact through recycling and waste management, the company has recycled almost 3,500 Christmas cards through the M&S scheme. This equates to three trees being planted by PECT.
But the eco-friendly efforts don’t stop there – with further plans to boost Buckles’ commitment this year by:
- Changing its waste management provider to start accurate measurements of general waste and recycling.
- Introducing a paper light policy throughout the business that will reduce their paper consumption by a considerable amount.
- Staging a ‘plant day’ in conjunction with PECT in March.
