The coronavirus pandemic has impacted all our lives in many ways and, with the imminent arrival of summer holidays, is likely to adversely impact our ability to go on holiday too.
With Ryanair trying to persuade customers to accept a voucher, TUI providing incentives to accept a voucher rather than a refund and EasyJet indefinitely grounding all flights, knowing where you stand and being able to assert your rights can be confusing.
You may have had a flight or holiday cancelled, be concerned about potential imminent trips or have longer term concerns and want to cancel a trip booked for the future. Each scenario requires careful consideration and an understanding of your options in order to determine the best course of action.
Your consumer rights, and available options for enforcement of such rights, will vary depending on how you booked and paid for your trip/flight:

- Insurance – adequate cover?
The first step will always be to look to your terms and conditions and speak to your operator. Check existing insurance and also consider seeking a rebate of insurance which you no longer require (again contact your provider regarding this option).
It is not surprising that contacting your operator or provider directly can be a slow and frustrating process but do persevere.
