Monica Cervellini

Solicitor

I joined Buckles as an International and Private Client lawyer in October 2020 and I am based in our London office. I am a qualified Italian lawyer (Avvocato) and English Solicitor.

I moved to London in 2012 following the completion of my Master’s Degree in Law at the University of Bologna (Italy). I spent 4 years with an Italian/English law firm in the City, mainly assisting Italian clients. I then went on to work in the Private Client department of another London-based firm for two years.

During the year 2013-2014 I moved back to Italy to work for a local law firm, where I developed experience in dealing with contentious and non-contentious matters with particular regards to Civil law: preparing court claims and defences, legal deeds, attending and representing Clients in Courts

I currently deal with UK-based and international probate matters involving multi-jurisdictional issues (primarily Italian and English). This includes both intestate and testate procedures, with part of the assets being abroad or Wills drafted under different rules and jurisdictions, for both UK domiciled and non-domiciled individuals. I advise individuals on their residence and domicile status, purchasing or selling properties in Italy, preparing powers of attorneys valid in Italy and reviewing contracts.

My English and Italian legal background enables me to maintain a comprehensive overview of matters. I aim to deliver a service tailored to my clients’ needs with a friendly, professional and caring approach.

I am a STEP Member-Affiliate and have obtained the STEP Certificate in Financial Services Trusts and Estate planning (distinction).

In my spare time, I enjoy practising Martial Arts (Kick Boxing and Muay Thai), swimming, hiking, fashion, travelling, exploring London and socialising with friends and family.
