Monica Cervellini

I joined Buckles as an International and Private Client lawyer in October 2020 and I’m based at our London office.

Having moved to London in 2012, following the completion of my Master’s Degree in Law at the University of Bologna (Italy), I worked for more than four years with an Italian/English law firm in the City, mainly assisting Italian clients. I then went on to work in the Private Client department of another London-based firm for two years.

I am an Italian Solicitor, having qualified in May 2018, and I’m currently working towards becoming an ‘Avvocato’.

My work on behalf of clients is particularly focused on drafting Wills, dealing with the administration of estates, including Inheritance Tax planning, and preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney.

I also deal with UK-based and international probate matters involving multi-jurisdictional issues (primarily Italian and English). This includes both intestate and testate procedures, with part of the assets being abroad or Wills drafted under different rules and jurisdictions, for both UK domiciled and non-domiciled individuals. I can advise clients on their residence and domicile status and the corresponding tax consequences too.

My English and Italian legal background enables me to maintain a comprehensive overview of matters. I aim to deliver a service tailored to my clients’ needs with a friendly, professional and caring approach.

I’m a STEP Member-Affiliate and have obtained STEP Certificate in Financial Services Trusts and Estate planning (distinction). Currently, I’m pursuing an Advanced Certificate in UK Tax for International Clients.

In my spare time, I enjoy practising Martial Arts (Kick Boxing and Muay Thai), swimming, hiking, fashion, travelling, exploring London and socialising with friends and family.
