Michael Blank

I have wide-ranging experience of all aspects of commercial property transactions, acting for both private and public sector clients. Clients include property developers, financial institutions, manufacturing companies with diverse property portfolios, retail sector clients, and other owner managed businesses. I have expertise in drafting and negotiating all types of commercial lease.

When acting for developers, I guide them through the process of acquiring development land, the funding the development process and the disposing of the completed development, whether on a freehold or leasehold basis, to single or multiple occupiers.

I’m a Fellow of the Agricultural Law Association and deal with the acquisition and disposal of agricultural land, whether for development or continuing agricultural use. I’m also familiar with tenancies under the Agricultural Holdings Act 1986 (and tenant succession issues), Farm Business Tenancies granted in accordance with the Agricultural Holdings Act 1995, and the securitisation of commercial property finance on behalf of financial institutions.

I’ve recently been listed in the Chambers & Partners 2019 as a Recognised Practitioner for Real Estate in East Anglia.

I enjoy watching cricket and rugby (I’m an Exeter Chiefs supporter). I am interested in birds and enjoy walking in the countryside with my black Labrador, Lexie, and springer spaniel, Saker, although they usually chase the birds away! Saker is one of very few dogs to have completed Wainwrights Coast to Coast walk (189 miles – in 2011). I also enjoy taking them beating for a local shoot in the winter. I enjoy blues, country and classical music, and see as many live performances as I can.
