Lauren Godfrey

I joined Buckles in October 2012 before qualifying as a Solicitor in our Dispute Resolution team in October 2016.

I have experience of acting for individuals and companies across a range of litigation matters, including housing and property disputes, landlord and tenant disputes. I act for both private landlords and social housing landlords advising on possession claims, access injunctions and anti-social behaviour injunctions. In addition, I deal with contractual disputes and contentious probate matters, as well as disputes over care home fees and challenging NHS Continuing Healthcare decisions.

I have a particular interest in disputes arising in the Court of Protection, which has jurisdiction over the property, financial affairs and personal welfare of people who lack mental capacity to make decisions for themselves. I’m able to advise in relation to disputes concerning Deputyships and Lasting Powers of Attorney, as well as on issues relating to Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.

I have expertise in care and funding disputes with Local Authorities under the Care Act 2014, challenging financial assessments and arguments surrounding the deprivation of capital, as well as advising clients on securing NHS Continuing Healthcare Funding.

I can also provide advice on all aspects of debt recovery and enforcement, both in the UK and internationally.

Most of my spare time outside of work is occupied by my young family. I also enjoy long walks with my dog and, when time permits, travelling across different European cities.
