Kate Hollyer

Head of Immigration, Partner

I joined Buckles as a Partner and Head of Immigration in July 2021 and have assisted my clients exclusively in this specialist field for ten years. I am based at both our London and Stamford offices. My legal training was completed at a leading London immigration law firm, and I was admitted to the Roll in February 2014.

My expertise covers the full spectrum of UK immigration and nationality law, including family, work and study categories under the Points-based system, residence rights for European nationals and their family members, routes to indefinite leave to remain in the UK and applications for British citizenship.

I frequently coordinate with family offices and tax advisors to implement effective strategies for my clients.

Following Brexit, I have focused on guiding business clients through the raft of changes to UK immigration law, specifically regarding employing EU workers in the UK. Owing to the limited menu of UK visa options available, I have also developed an expertise in complex applications made on a discretionary basis.

The UK immigration system is vast, complex, and notoriously difficult to navigate. I pride myself in guiding clients – both businesses and individuals alike – through the intricate system of legal requirements, providing straightforward advice with practical solutions. I am passionate about what I do and seek to relieve clients of the stress and pressures involved in each individual immigration journey by offering expert knowledge with a bespoke approach.

I am a member of the Immigration Law Practitioners’ Association.

Outside of work I am an avid reader and I enjoy listening to music and watching films (when my young children are not dictating the subject matter!). I am also a recent running convert and Peloton rider.
