David Egan

I joined Buckles as a partner in the Corporate and Commercial team in June 2022, having spent over 20 years of my career in the London and Sydney offices of Baker McKenzie.  Since returning to the UK in 2015, I have spent time as a partner at both Greenwoods GRM and Keystone Law.

I have a broad range of experience in company and commercial law, specialising in:

  • domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions;
  • corporate finance (including equity raising, corporate borrowing and lending, and project finance);
  • investment structuring;
  • partnership and shareholder agreements; and
  • joint ventures and green field projects,

and advise buyers and sellers, directors and management teams, investors, shareholders, and all other stakeholders.

My clients operate in a wide range of industry sectors, but I have particular expertise in:

  • energy and renewables;
  • private healthcare and social care;
  • pharmaceuticals; and
  • property lending / bridge finance.

I have a proactive style in relation to transactional matters, ensuring that a client’s requirements are managed as efficiently as possible. I aim to provide advice and documents that are clear and to the point, and relevant to the particular needs of the client.  I believe it is critical to good service that I understand the client’s business, key commercial drivers and risk profile when advising on transactions.

As the father of two young boys my hobbies tend to be theoretical these days, but I am a lifelong cricket obsessive (or bore, depending on how you see these things) and a keen hiker whenever I get the opportunity.
