I joined Buckles in October 2020 as a Senior Associate in our International and Private Client teams, having practised international cross border private client work for more than 11 years. I am a dual qualified English solicitor and Spanish abogado, and I’m fluent in English, Spanish and French.
Before joining Buckles, I was an associate in the International Private Wealth team at Child & Child and have previously worked in international law firms in London. I worked for well-known media companies in London and Paris prior to becoming a lawyer.
I advise clients and charities in the planning and administration of complex estates, often involving multiple jurisdictions, particularly in those situations where civil and common law systems collide. I also advise on a broad range of Spanish private client work and Lasting Powers of Attorney for individuals with assets in various jurisdictions.
I like providing clear and simple advice to clients especially when they are dealing with a complex matter. Building relationships and taking care of my clients is very important for me. When dealing with international matters, it’s vital to have access to network of reliable advisors in other jurisdictions to support this effort. I am also commercially driven in trying to find cost effective solutions for my clients.
I am Chairman of the British Spanish Law Association and a Committee member of the Cross Border Estates Special Interest Group of STEP. I was also a former member of the founding committee of STEP Spain.
I regularly publish articles in the PS Magazine of the Law Society of England and Wales, STEP Journal, The Journal (Law Society of Scotland), Wolters Kluwer (Spain) amongst others.
I thoroughly enjoy travelling and cinema. My other passions include food and wine, and my family has been involved in the fine food and wine industry in Spain.
