Injury to the pelvis or hips can be very serious and even result in leg amputation (in which case see "legs" for details). "Severe" injuries (£25,750- £86,000) involve damage to other organs and considerable disability. "Moderate" injury (£17,500 - £25,750) is when there is little permanent disability and little future risk. Surprisingly, "Injuries of Limited Severity" (£8,250- £17,500) may result in a hip replacement whereas "lesser injuries" (up to £8,250) are cases with no residual disability.
