Injury to the pelvis or hips can be very serious and even result in leg amputation (in which case see "legs" for details). "Severe" injuries (£28,000- £93,500) involve damage to other organs and considerable disability. "Moderate" injury (£19,000 - £28,000) is when there is little permanent disability and little future risk. Surprisingly, "Injuries of Limited Severity" (£9,000- £19,000) may result in a hip replacement whereas "lesser injuries" (up to £9,000) are cases with no residual disability.
