Buckles wins national accolade

At the exclusive LawNet Annual Conference, held on 7th October at the Chesford Grange Hotel in Warwick, Michael Portillo presented leading local firm Buckles Solicitors with the most prestigious of its annual awards - Law Firm of the Year. The black tie dinner was attended by over 200 member representatives of LawNet’s network of 68 independent law firms across the UK and Ireland. The winning submission included clear strategic direction, exemplary client and employee care, sustained financial performance, key cases won and evidence of other initiatives that best exemplify a leading firm in LawNet’s extensive network.

Acting for a number of national and international household names and drawing clients from across East Anglia, the Midlands and beyond, the firm is widely acknowledged as the leading full service law practice in the local area and is rapidly becoming a regional heavyweight firm.

In the latest edition of The Legal 500, the client’s guide to the best law firm, Buckles is uniquely recognised with five lawyers named as Leading Individuals in the region - Accredited Mediator James Maxey (Dispute Resolution), Nigel Moore (Company Commercial), Gail Sykes (Housing Law), Duncan Jackson (Wealth Preservation & Tax Planning) and newly-ranked Lyn Brisley (Family).

Buckles enjoys Legal 500 ratings for all services, but has enviable First Tier rankings in Company Commercial, Commercial Litigation, Commercial Property, Personal Tax, Trusts and Probate, and Social Housing.

Managing Partner Colleen Gostick, who won LawNet’s Managing Partner of the Year award in 2008, comments: “We are delighted to win this national award and to be recognised as an ambitious firm. The culture of Buckles is enthusiastic and we value strong, long-term client relationships. That we have won this award hot on the heels of our most successful year in the latest edition of The Legal 500, is testament to the success of our approach to be forward-thinking and innovative in delivering cost-effective solutions for our clients”.
