wills

In spite of increased publicity in recent years about the need for people to make a Will, around 70% of the adult population still don't have one.

Recent increases in house prices mean it is more important for home owners to have a Will now than ever before.

Making a Will allows you to choose which provisions you include, and it is therefore able to reflect your own situation and concerns. By not making a Will, you run the risk that people or organisations you would like to benefit after your death, will not. This is particularly relevant if you live with a partner to whom you are not married and/or you have children.

A Will also offers tax planning opportunities - we can frequently save a couple with substantial assets more than £120,000 if their Wills are drawn appropriately. For more information please look at the Tax Planning section of the website.

Other important areas for consideration when making a Will are Lasting Power of Attorney and Care Home Fees.
